Okay, let's just fucking STOP with the "stop hanging around Tumblr" shit, k? Some people like Tumblr, and Tumblr is not all that-one-annoyingly-bad-blog-you-saw-that-one-time. Quit being elitist snobs.

But you must admit there is a definite tumblr language. If OP doesn't like that language, best option is to avoid that culture.

That's not "tumblr language". That's BS textspeak, which everyone uses and is afraid to admit. Not one of the Tumblrs I follow types like that. It's not fucking Tumblr. That's like saying LJ is entirely ONTD.

Not everyone uses textspeak. Fewer phones and messaging plans have character limits these days and plenty of people use the complete keyboard on their phone.

Nope, definite tumblr language. It's not used by everyone, but it's there. As for the crap OP is talking about, I mostly see that in tags rather than actual posts which is easier to ignore.

(I should probably add that I have a Tumblr and I enjoy the nice little corner of it that I have found. But every once in a while, I'll see dumb posts like that and I want to flip a table.)

"gr8" and "4ever" are text speak. "gr9" and "5ever" are variations mostly found on tumblr. No one is claiming that everyone on tumblr types that way. What is being said is that there is a rather large subset of people on tumblr who type that way, and what's more--this is the important part--there are a lot fewer people who type that way anywhere else (except perhaps twitter). The suggestion was that OP stay away from tumblr because it has a high concentration of people who use "gr9" and "5ever," not because tumblr is automatically bad.

If you're still here, I hope you've calmed the hell down and are looking at these posts rationally.

Many Tumblr users use the same expressions that are rarely used anywhere else and when they are, it's by those same Tumblr users. Yes, that is a virtual culture. They also engage in particular behaviors once unique to that site that have now spilled over into other places, such as AO3. That doesn't mean the people who don't use or like Tumblr have to like it when they see that happening.

But everytime you have gastrointestinal issues it is most likely due to the Chinese food. I keep telling you it's the common factor and to just avoid it, but no. You refuse to believe it and keep chugging down the Chinese food, then continue to complain about the pain afterwards.
