eh my dislike of Moffat has nothing to do with his writing of women. i think he's a bit... one-dimensional at times with them (they worship the doctor! ... well, there we go then!) but it's not like that's ALL he does. i just... dislike him. he's so full of himself and not at all open to criticism and that's a sign of a bad writer. even if i LIKED a writer if i heard them say they refused critique altogether i'd probably look down on them - creatively speaking people should be open to growing and he seems to think he's the God of Doctor Who who can Do No Wrong and that's why i dislike him. he's flawed. he should not be the end-all-be-all of The Doctor.

Eh, he's got good precedent; JNT felt pretty much the same way, didn't he? As for the "he doesn't take criticism" IDK if that's fair, since IIRC it's an accusation consistently leveled at him based on one remark made in one interview...now, if he's said it multiple times, then yeah, I can see it. I don't read interviews with him though, so I can't say.

His writing though, from what I've seen of it, tends to swing between a rare flash of "okay that was kind of good" and a majority standard of mediocre, recycled soap opera/sitcom-ish plots that tend to not hang together very well upon closer examination.

TL;DR anon still misses Terry Nation.

JNT may not the best example for "good precedent"; he pretty much drove Classic Who into the ground, and he's not exactly known for having been a good storyteller.

Basically, he was the proto-Moffat, one might say, depending on how much one dislikes the two.

Oh, oh, is this a good place to reiterate my crack theory that the entirety of Moffat's writing career on Doctor Who has been based on lessons he learned from "Silver Nemesis"? I mean, JNT didn't write it but he did produce it...
