Not knowing what your vague medical conditions are, I can't comment as to whether your boyfriend is avoiding you because he's turned off or because he doesn't want to risk worsening your condition... and I know it's hard to give a damn about other people when this shitty thing is happening to you, but try talking to him about it before you take everyone else's advice and dump him without warning. He might be about as freaked out as you are by these sudden changes, and just not know how to express it.

I say this having health issues, with meds that have caused weight gain (the family history doesn't help, either -_-), and needing to reassure most new partners that no, they are not going to break me.

I would not be surprised, though, if dude just happened to be a jerk.

Certain types of medicines can make you gain weight. Sounds to me he's just being an ass more than caring about her "condition"

That would make no sense giving the wording which seems to be something like:
I gained weight->my boyfriend won't touch me->I feel unattractive.
