Re: I need help

The U = Xsomething equation.

U=Xsomething
U'=X'something
U" = X"something
Uupper = Xuppersomethingsomething
Ulower = somethingXlowerXlower*somethingoranother

It doesn't matter how you lable your upper and lower bound equations as long as you're consistant. It may be one more step, but I re-write the upper and lower bound equations in terms of U and x before substituting the numerical values. For example, if the equation is U = X^2 + 3X - 1 and the upper limit of X is 9 and the lower limit of X is (-1), I'd write something like:
U = X^2 + 3X - 1, X" = 9, X' = (-1)

U" = X"^2 + 3X" - 1
= (9)^2 + 3(9) - 1
=81+27-1
=107

U' = X'^2 + 3X' - 1
=(-1)^2 + 3(-1) - 1
=1 - 3 - 1
=(-3)
Notice how I re-wrote the U = xsomething equation in terms of the upper and lower bounds of U and x instead of writing U (upper/lower bound) = eqn2 even though I knew which X value went with bound? It's one more step but it helps other people to follow what you're doing. It's also easier to find mistakes when it's easy to tell what you're trying to do by looking at the equations.

If I had a box that could give me my characters' faces that I'm unable to draw (having near zero drawing ability), yeah, I would pay a lot for that. Settings, too. That would be amazing.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-08 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
Nice try, but no. Go try to start warning wank on a kink meme somewhere; case doesn't play that game.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-08 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
If it is a secret about two kids having a relationship (I have no idea what fandom this is), how would that make you a pedophile?

(Anonymous) 2013-05-08 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
IA

I'm a Clint/Natasha shipper, and I'm quite tired of getting all hopeful about a new fic . . . only to find out that they're some minor bg pairing.

Ughhhhh.

Anyone? I've read a few shippy ones off ao3 and idk where else to look. The only ship I won't read is Vetinari/Margolotta (yeah, yeah, weird aversion, I know) but shippy or just gen is fine. I find most instances of people trying to copy PTerry's style of footnotes pretty obnoxious too but if it's IC I'll gloss over it.

It seems a bit inevitable that most networks go past their branding, but there are some networks I really wish wouldn't

Yeah like Syfy showing wrestling. I have never understood that :/

(Anonymous) 2013-05-08 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
And the fact that I ship Tony/Steve means we can't talk about Loki/Tony? I'm pretty sure the two aren't related.

Now I'm sad, too.

Funny, I'm the opposite. In that scene, I feel like we get a glimpse of the person he *could* have been, but chose not to be.

His sudden unwillingness to reply is ridiculously fun to watch. He'll just stop replying to one thread but keep on in others until he's been proven wrong in each individual thread.

Awww, the spiders look like they're having a conversation in the last one.

Re: Avengers: Steve/Tony: Kidfic

(Anonymous) 2013-05-08 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
Basically Tony and Steve taking responsibility of a clone/lab created offspring and dealing with the realities of taking care of a kid with issues. No perfect 'happy families'. I want the good bits to be because they've worked for it.

Hey, let's not start a dogpile on ill_omened. I didn't want to bully the guy, I just don't like this one thing in a thread on April 20th.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-08 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
IDK, I'm a comic fan so maybe that's why I ship them, but I watched the movie with a friend who hadn't even seen the other movies and doesn't know anything about the comics, and she still ended up shipping Tony/Steve. And no, I hadn't told her about them before.

But I get it, anon, there are a lot of other popular ships that I don't get because I think they have no chemistry.

She's not sermonizing while she drives, she's getting the radio to do it for her. And she's doing it in a publicly funded venue that people can't just walk away from, not if they need that bus.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-08 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
omg I am the same way about... everything and that kind of thing especially. I don't care that no one will know it's me. I WILL and that's terrifying enough!

... We can be awkward and hide together?

You left out the part where the reason he leaves was because he read the chapter titles of the book and saw the one that said "the final goodbye" - and freaked out about it. So he wanted to believe that River could find a way to get free without breaking her wrist... There's a lot more going on here than him being a dick just to be a dick.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-08 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
Eh, for me Tony/Loki (which I also loathe) is more about fandom's obsessive woobification of a particular kind of pretty guy and the assumption that hatred actually does equal love. I dislike it and think it's utterly implausible and ooc, but at least it's based in SOMETHING.

C/C, tho, is SO VERY MUCH rub-white-dick-together, which is why its popularity for me goes from "eh, sad there's so much not-my-ship" to "FOR FUCKSAKE AUUUUGH SHUT UP".

Nothing really changed: the last season of Poirot, the probably-never-to-be-written books of David Pirie.

Well, Elementary. It proved to be nice, although I do not like the Moriarty&Irene storyline at all.

Ah, and it's not a release, but I can't wait for the second half of my Professeur Bell series to ship. It is so adorably insane. I lost it after the dialogue between Bell (who, in this universe, is a specialist dealing with monsters and chimeras) and a dude with two heads (who is trying to persuade Bell to amputate the second head):
Bell: so, what's the problem?..
Dude: the second head is horrible! Sometimes it wakes me up at night with the screeching of its teeth!
Bell (inscrutably): ...well, go visit a dentist.

Just wondering, but what is it about the Thor movie that you don't like? Personally, I'm holding out on my own opinion until I see it but I'm curious as to what makes you feel that way.
