(Anonymous) 2013-05-08 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)Anyway, it's series 3 by now, and I'm a really slow, difficult reader. I actually tried reading the first one and gave up a few chapters down the line.
Even if I'd pick it up again, I can managr maybe one "easy" book a month, by which I mean like a 150-200 page detective novel. The Asoif books are like 3-4 times that size, and twice and really dense in information. In a best case scenario, I'd need 3-4 months to struggle through one of them, and adding to that I'm doing a course where I'll have 6 mandatory books to read before the year is through.
In short, there's simply no way I'd manage to be "up to speed" even before season 4 - let alone now.
I also just think it's one of those things where I simply might njoy the adaptation more.
