I've actually gotten a bit burnt out on comics myself. I still read several titles, but whereas in the past I tried to follow most of Marvel's mainstream titles (not DC because I don't touch Nu52), now I've pretty much dropped stuff like The Avengers** and the big X-Men titles and just keep up with a few single character and team book faves.

**Except for Avengers Assemble because it's GLORIOUS.

It's not even a quality thing. I just don't have enough interest to read anything but my absolute favorite titles.

The few big two books that I'd REALLY recommend are- Captain Marvel, Avengers Assemble, Hawkeye, and Fearless Defenders. For DC the only ones I'd really pimp are Batwoman and Sword of Sorcery (which was just cancelled).

A lot of independent ones have just been mentioned, but I'd also like to pimp Brian Wood's Mara! It's fantastic.

That being said I dislike the term 'grow out'. It implies a level of maturity has been reached by... reading comics any longer.
