Maybe because he has feminine features is what makes you think of it?

Context needed?

You need context for "This character triggers my gender dysphoria, and that upsets me because I can't enjoy the show he's on anymore"? Seems pretty straightforward.

Yes, why wouldn't you be able to ask for context? Just looking at the secret, i have no idea if what is triggering them is this dude's looks, maybe some quirk or habit the character has, a part of his storyline, whatever. all of those things would be completely valid, but with a little more context it'd be easier to commiserate/share similar experiences.

OP explicitly stated that they don't know why either.

See, to me that is still a pretty broad thing? I don't know can mean 'I totally don't know at all what sets me off about him' or 'it is something about his face/behaviour/voice/whatever but i can't put my finger exactly on what'. With how often the secrets posted only tell half the story, either because the whole story doesn't fit on the secret or because people expect their fandom to be better known than it is, there is nothing wrong with asking for a little more context.

True, I guess. I read it as this being a secret (and a problem for OP) largely because he sets them off and they don't know why, but could be open to interpretation as you say.

I think I get what you mean, OP. Is it because he looks similar to you/he's how you want to look? Dysphoria gets triggered by a lot of strange things. I've found that mine gets worse or feels shittier when watching any kind of movie with a strong focus on father/son relationships, which sucks because that is in a lot of movies.

Really? Because I have a hard time finding this in movies. Unless you're watching a lot of anime or something or non-American live action?

I didn't mean a specific kind of father/son relationship, just a relationship in general. I think heroes that have daddy issues are pretty common. Maybe "strong focus" was the wrong phrasing or maybe I just notice it more because it gets to me. SHRUG.

I totally get this.:( but in a way it's not all bad because I think "maybe one day I could look more like this and I'd be handsome as fuck." lol;;

I'm androgyne. The DSM V will supposedly include references to "some alternative gender," vs. just "the opposite gender," but right now I'm not technically considered to have dysphoria. No-one's experience will ever be the same, but I've faced struggles trying to identify and address how my body and mind align (or not!).

PFLAG has been my favorite resource, for myself and my family. Take a look, see if there's anything you like. Their .pdfs have generally have good definitions. They helped me figure out how I was feeling about myself, not just in trying to explain it to other people. We're out here if want us!

The DSM V will have "gender identity disorder" instead of gender dysphoria.
