This reeks of wankbait but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're asking why people ship the pairings they do.

For me, I enjoy the way they interact in canon and love exploring the possibility of a romantic/sexual relationship between them.

They rely on each other so ridiculously much in the canon. It makes the story of the game make so much more sense (not that it doesn't already) if they're together. They complement and differ from each other in just the right ways. And I can just...really really see their specific dynamic evolving that way.

Plus one of them gets mind-controlled to kill the other in an alternate future and the angst from that is great.

EDIT: Oh, and their dialogue to each other in the main script sometimes sounds like it comes from a romance movie. 'Two halves of a greater whole' and all.

I feel there's a lot they can learn from each other and that they share complementary traits that play off in a fun/endearing way. Their backstory/cirucmstances also mesh very well and there's a lot of little details I can pick out and explore in fic and fanart. She's really quirky and one of my favorite characters and he's hot; it's fucking great.

idk why people are so angry in this thread. You just gave us a reason to wax poetics about my OTP.

The main character hates the best villain of the story and hate-sex is what I want. The villain is a master manipulator, mindfuck and mind games are what I love.
Betrayal and insanity are their body, tears and hate are their blood. Basically : Mad-Scientist-Witch/Courageous-Bookworm-Angel OTP.

(Also technically : As long as I shout it at the world and do fanwork for it, it will exist because I'm like nearly the only one who have done stuff for it. I know some people ship it but write/draw nothing... So I could just have justified my OTP's existence by saying : I EXIST.)

No one here cares about my OTP anyway but from the moment Sayla slapped Kai in the first episode of Mobile Suit Gundam I shipped it forever

Sayla has more subtext with Kai than anyone else on the White Base and I interpreted her yelling at him/being annoyed at him all the time as a tsundere attitude and mostly just her actually TRYING in her own way to call out his shitty behavior because she wanted him to be a better person (otherwise she'd just ignore him completely). By the end of "Encounters in Space" when she and Amuro escape A Bao Qu she calls out Kai's name and he reaches for her, and he catches her and it's so sweet IDK. I like the whole idea of their relationship dynamic.

They're a couple of troubled, socially awkward guys who spend too much time playing online games. By which I mean 'using games to kick ass and save the entire world'. They pull each other out of some bad places, and one is canonically head over heels for the other - plus there's an option for them to get online-married at the end of the story. IMO they make a unique, complimetary and really sweet pair.

I NOTP. Pretty much an equal opportunity shipper and can get behind most pairings I come across in my fandoms. I find some pairings more plausible than others, but I love nothing more than a good writer convincing me of a pairing that I never saw coming, she puns.
