lol. For me it started with TGITF and then my dislike was cemented after TSITL/TFOTD.

Care to elaborate?

Sure.

TGITF annoyed me because Moffat completely ignored the Doctor and Rose's relationship and each character's own personalities and character development in order to push his agenda of the brief romance with Moffat's OC. And I just generally thought it was overpraise. I didn't think it was anything special, even ignoring the obnoxious OOC-ness of it all.

And then I just through the library episodes were a mess. Once again the companion was pushed aside for the sake of Moffaty's shiny new character and just... I thought the actually writing of the episode was sloppy.

Ah... yeah, I comment on that below; Moffat pushing aside companions (or John) so The Doctor (or Sherlock) can chase after his "awesome" new female character... fuck that shit.

I finally figured out what irked me with TGITF oh my god. I mean, I loved the actress (forgetting her name and her character's name oop) and there were aspects of the episode I did like, but the Doctor's obsession with her at the expense of his companions is definitely what made me side-eye it.

I had a weird experience with GITF. Like everyone, I loved the hell out of the concept and framework. Unlike everyone, who had moaned about him getting himself stuck in the past and leaving Rose and Mickey, I was confused because...I had immediately just thought he would've had to protect the timeline, Reinette or no, and so I felt kind of lost and cut off from everyone else's opinions when I tried to find out what other people had said.

On the other hand, the jaw-dropping classism and snide dismissal of the foundations of the French Revolution and class warfare in general offended me so much I wanted to throw something across the room after watching it. And mind you, I was only 16 at the time. Yet no one else seemed to be complaining about that.

Preeeeeeeeeeach. I haaaaaaaaaated Girl in the Fireplace, but to say that in fandom around the time it first aired was grounds for instant execution/crucifixion, LOL.
