You forgot Firefly

While I haven't heard anything about Firefly in a long time but well...I used to share a house [a very small house] with two people who called themselves 'brown coats' because of the show. Yeah, they can get really over the top - but thankfully seem to have died down some [at least in my social circles].

GoT on the other hand...is *really* starting to get bad.

There was an article on Cracked.com recently about "weirdly outdated corporate policies" that chose to devote an entire quarter of the article to complaining that Netflix did not want to bring Firefly back. It was annoying, and I LIKE Firefly.

Huh, interesting. Kind of like the yahoo aritcle (http://omg.yahoo.com/news/message-game-thrones-haters-004000248.html) that basically goes through why all the reasons haters give for not liking it is wrong.

Well, that successfully addressed none of the reason I am uninterested in watching it or hearing about it. I suppose if it's directed at people coming into their space to complain about there show, I'm fine with the article, but any other use makes it just sound really pretentious.

To be fair, I think Arrested Development is one of the most overrated shows to ever be on TV. I understand why it was cancelled. Firefly is a really good show, and I think the main reason it was cancelled was because nobody heard about it.

Everybody heard about it. It was super-hyped because it was by the creator of the really popular Buffy and Angel programs that were running at the time.

I've never been able to escape Firefly and I've never even seen the show. At our NaNo kickoff party last year in my new town, during the formal introductions someone asked if there were any other brown coats and there were like half a dozen. By the end of the first week I wouldn't go to any write ins any of them confirmed they'd be at because they disrupted them with talking about Firefly and how it should be brought back and those of us who hadn't seen it were really missing out and there's no excuse for that, blah blah blah. Since there's someone like this at my office and I've met so many people like this over the last 10 years or so, I just couldn't handle listening to that crap at the write ins.

I think a big part of that is that fans being loud/out there/spreading info about the show got Serenity. So it's kind of encouraged, in a way.

(though yeah there were loud fans before Serenity, so)
