YANA. I do actually like some comfort, but I like the comfort to be brief and mostly implied. Like, I DGAF about the "slow healing path", to quote that other similar secret a few weeks ago, and in fact cannot fucking stand reading the healing process because it's so damn boring.

However, I do sometimes like a scene after the hurt where, say, the character goes to/is found by his friends and they jump all over him to start calming him down/bandaging his wounds/cleaning him up/calling the hospital, and tell him it's alright and they're going to take care of him -- but we don't have to actually see the boring-as-fuck process of them taking care of him. I just like the implication that the comfort will take place.

Although a lot of hurty fics, especially short ones, I also like it to end as soon as the hurt ends, without any comfort or aftermath.

This. Maximum hurt, and minimum comfort - not that I don't want some comforting, I just don't want to see the whole healing process.

This is me too. I love the long drawn out hurt with the wee bit of comfort. LOL

Thank you for summarizing my own thoughts perfectly.
