I do repeat comments on dA, when I get thanks from people for favouriting their work. I leave longer more pithy comments for when I am actually saying something about a picture.

But I have to agree with one implied sentiment here, I like when I make a long pithy comment on a fic (or piece of art) if the writer/creator actually engages with an actual reply that addresses what I've said instead of just a boring unengaging "Thanks".
