[ FS Anon Meme ]
Secrets, rants, opinions, anything you want to say about your fandom or a fandom or fandom in general, do it here! Anonymously, of course. Get it all off your chest.
Some ground rules:
1. Going anon is encouraged but not absolutely required (for those who struggle with recaptchas and stuff).
2. No autoplaying/autolooping embeds, or embeds that cover/stretch the screen.
3. No dropping personal info or IRL contact info, etc.
That's about it, though!
(Today's post is below.)

Re: I usually love F!S but sometimes...nope.
(Anonymous) 2013-05-25 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)Thank you for the responses here. I don't usually post anything I consider argumentative or contrary for fear of coming off as a fool. Today was the first time I challenged myself to step out of my comfort zone and the whole "posting in the wrong place" nearly broke what nerve I had. I had to walk away from my computer for a while to curb my anxiety because I rather expected to be bashed or embarrassed for my "feels".
Thank you for making this a far more pleasant experience that my fears expected, which is why I usually love this page. You often surprise me in the neatest, nicest ways.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-25 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)It's been a rough week for me in this area and posting this has helped a lot. I saw STID on Monday afternoon and made it about one-third of the way through before realizing that, despite the virtue of the movie's own sake, it wasn't my idea of Khan or my movie (WOK). I became very aware that both Ricardo Montalban and Gene Roddenberry were missing from the mix and I'm kinda grieving their loss now.
Khan had some very complicated layers originally and strong motivations for his actions. Not a woobie as I understand the term but redeemable by some of his characteristics.
Trek, as depicted by Gene and defended by Majel, was endlessly optimistic. I fear that that quality has faded away for the most part and I miss it deeply.
