I get not seeing Hannibal as that smart, he has his less-than-smart moments and he can be really obvious at times but I'm curious about your reasons for watching the show if you don't find him interesting on some level.

About your statement: I think Sherlock Hound would have a good chance against Hannibal in the show's universe, lol.

I mostly watch Hannibal because of the squick factor. I haven't been truly affected by any sort of horror movie for a few years now, but cannibalism always sort of gets me. It fills the void.

(Also, I do like the acting, and the sort-of mysteries in each episode. I watch medical/police procedural shows a lot too, and this is a better show overall.)
