see, while on the one hand i totally feel you

on the other i'm like "goddammit why does it always end up having to be 'but [x] is a problem for guys too!'" when dudes don't have to put up with anywhere near as much flak for their harmless fandom interests

i'm sorry for my kneejerk response

it's just i've seen so many guys bust into discussions about the problem with using "fangirl" derisively going "hey what about people using 'fanboy' as an insult, that's a sexist thing that's totally 100% equivalent to what you're talking about!!" and such that i get a little leery about it
