Y'know, I never cared one way or another (my ships were Snape/Lily [preDH], and Hermione/Fred or Hermione/Percy). But now...

Now I'm liking the idea that Remus had a crush on Sirius as a kid, that his "betrayal" was devastating and made him Remus go back and think about all the things he could've been wrong about by being blinded by teenage infatuation, and that after Sirius came back and neither of them as the traitor and that was good, maybe, maaaybe they started something as adults.

That kinda ignores Remus/Tonks. But I'll gladly ignore the canon Remus/Tonks. (I liked it fine when it was a fandom ship, but it was always so clunky and awkward in canon. Makes sense--Harry doesn't need to be privy to the romantic details of adults lives, but still. Meh.)

OT but I love how nearly everyone goes "I like Remus/Tonks fine...as a fanon ship. The canon version sucks." XD (I'm in the same boat, btw)

I could see the first part: that Remus had this weird crush on Sirius that got destroyed by Sirius's betrayal. But I can't see them ever having anything after. I don't see any affection from Sirius's end. He seemed almost cold and detached, even when speaking of betraying Remus. All he had to say about that was "Snape deserved it lol". Like... if it involved James or Lily or Harry, he would've hated himself for the betrayal. But when it was Remus, he just didn't really give a shit.
