What's this about horcruxes and cannibalism? I don't understand. :(

Rowling says that the process to create a Horcrux involves an incredibly disgusting act, but has never said what it was exactly.

People in this community have suggested cannibalism.

In the books, all we are told is that it requires a murder, and that it splits your soul, and possibly a specific dark magical ritual to prepare the object that will act as a vessel, but Rowling insinuates that the "disgusting act" is something besides the murder.

To reabsorb the Horcrux, you only have to regret the murder, I think, which makes me wonder if the "disgusting act" was made up later on by Rowling to keep interest in the series alive, or something.
