I don't know. I love the look of the werewolf in An American Werewolf in London. And it still has the best transformation scene bar none. Though I wish we could have a werewolf that actually looks, you know, somewhat like a wolf rather than an Aye-Aye.

That'd be scarier than most of the werewolves you see today.

title or description

They look like meth addicted squirrels.

Aw, he's harmless and endangered because of the way he looks. (The locals think they are spirits of the departed. Therefore they kill them on site because to see an Aye-Aye is deadly bad luck.) Poor little fella.

Wasn't that an episode of the Wild Thornberries? I feel like it was. Hmmm.

You are missing out. That is what I wanted to be able to do as a kid. Talk to animals. :3 I spent half my childhood wishing for a genie so I could get that wish.

Okay, I kind of remembered that one the other way round... the natives think they are spirits of the departed and think it is bad luck to KILL one.
With the belief in the old tales fading, the Aye-Ayes are no longer protected by the myth and are endangered.

I'll have to google that one tomorrow when I'm less tired. :)

Worse -- it looks like a meth addicted squirrel that's just had a hit of PCP. If it was much bigger it'd be terrifying!

(Anonymous) 2013-06-09 08:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Are you me, Anon?

Though the final scenes, where we see the werewolf stalking through London, were well done, in my opinion - the werewolf looks like a monster canid, rather than some shambling ape with really big ears.

Apes are a whole lot more terrifying than wolves!

(Anonymous) 2013-06-10 03:15 pm (UTC)(link)
then they should be in movies about were-apes, not were-wolves.

"And it still has the best transformation scene bar none"

Have you seen Company of Wolves?
That's the best/scariest transformation scene for me. But AWiL is a close second.
