I just found out my new supervisor at work has never seen a single Star Wars. My question was, how do you grow up in America, being slightly older than my 32 years, and have NEVER SEEN A SINGLE STAR WARS? It broke my brain a little. (Of course, I'm the same anon who had Chewbacca as an imaginary best friend as a little girl, so what do I know about what's normal in people's lives?)

I don't think my sister had ever really watched any of them until after she was married and then watched them with her husband. She's 34 now and I know for a fact that the rest of my siblings and I have watched the movies multiple times. Some people are magic.

Yes, he also had never heard of Lambchop. I'm wondering if he was secretly Amish as a child.

I'm 28 and have never seen one-- my house is orthodox Trekker.

Aww, my mom was an original Trekkie, and we watched everything sci-fi.

Different Anon: I got married on the bridge of the Starship Enterprise and we watch all Sci-Fi around here. Trek and Wars! You can like both!

This always boggles my mind, too. It's such a cultural milestone, and I'm always surprised when people 30+ have never seen any of the original three movies.
