NS1

me, I avoid mpreg like the Plague. the only scenario in which this could IMHO work well is when the character in question is trans, but this curiously never happens :/

I have an original character who accidentally gets pregnant. He is outwardly biologically male, though he visually looks very androgynous.

I actually created him before I read an article about a man in India who had abdominal surgery and found out he had a uterus, though I know I'm still probably taking biological liberties when it comes to him actually being able to get pregnant.

There was also recently was an article about a man in china who found out he was a woman when he ended up with ovarian cysts, and he also looked outwardly male too. He had Turner's syndrome as well as congenital adrenal hyperplasia, which combined to make him 'look male' but inwardly be female.

(Yes, clearly I have had too many thoughts about mpreg. XD)

Well, there are all kinds of syndromes that mess up with the standard XX-woman and XY-man genotype (Turner, Klinefelter, Androgen insensitivity syndrome and various others) and may cause people having male or female (or in-between) sexual organs (internal or external) while appearing to be of the other gender, but from what I know such people tend to be sterile.

Yeah that was what most of my research pulled up too, so I know I'm taking a bit of liberties biology wise (though there does tend to be an exception for everything, so there's always the possibility someone with those conditions COULD get pregnant, it's just likely to be like, one in a billion or something).

Mpreg is canon in Torchwood, Jack Harkness talks about having been pregnant in the very first ep, but it's sort of the canon of doom. There have been some brilliant fics, but mostly they end up all OOC and curtains.
