When I first saw this episode I was quite young, and I knew nothing about Planet of the Apes.

My best friend and I watched the whole movie waiting for the fun singing to start. Just... sitting. Waiting. In silence.



I still think it's the most boring movie ever and could only be improved with singing Apes.

I live the movie, personally, but this is kind of adorable. I had a vaguely similar issue with Paint You Wagon re: the real version vs. the Simpsons version. At least in that, there was actually still singing.

I probably would have expected a fun western singalong if I'd ever gotten my hands on a copy at that age. The Simpsons would never lie to me about such things.

It actually is kind of a fun western sing-along, just the storyline was not at all what I would have expected.
