How so? Her power, before King Candy made her a glitch, was teleport. Remember that bit in the movie where there was a pedal that didn't work? It was for the special move. Every racer has one. That's why she was able to glitch around, it was always her ability, it just became pixelated.

Woah I never noticed that (i mean I only watched the movie once but still) it makes a lot of sense.
Though I think it still makes it weird that she can use the power when she's not in her car? She shouldn't really need a pedal then.

Just a thought I never really thought about it.

I did too. There are some racing games that simulate manual driving in addition to automatic.

I seriously don't remember that at all. o_O But that makes me slightly less aggravated about her being used as a cheat character at the end. Was it ever explained what other special moves there were?

Well, Candlehead's was probably the cherry bomb thing.

Oh, I never caught that! Clever. Also, I figured there was a downside to her glitching, in that she couldn't always control where she was going. She could either glitch and get ahead, or glitch and fall behind.

Oh wow! I also never realized that and couldn't figure out why there would be a clutch in a racing game!

What the hell.

No. It was a clutch. She presses it when she shifts gears and takes her foot off the gas at the same time. Also it never once shows her glitching as a direct result of pushing the clutch, which you think the filmmakers would show if this was true. She glitches randomly in and out of the car. I... really have no idea where you got this theory. Most racing games I've ever seen had a special boost or whatever activated by a button, not a pedal.

But yeah, all the characters probably have a special ability, we saw Candlehead's too. Or they have a level tailor made for them that we never saw because it was unnecessary.

At the end of the game where the little girl is playing, three lights show up and she pushes a button. Then Van. teleports forward. It was pretty obvious that wa sa special movie

I don't disagree with the special move part?

The three lights have nothing to do with anything though and she does the special move by - holy shit - pressing the button on the steering wheel. The pedal theory was baffling, that was my point.
