Re: how to shake off a bad mood?

At that point, I tend to marathon video games. A lot of the things that can distract me when I'm not at my worst (reading, watching TV or movies, etc.) are just too passive to work in the worst of the worst, so I really have to get down and Distract Myself With An Activity. And video games are a pretty low-barrier activity—they don't require another person, they tend to require most of my attention... I can end up in The Zone with a game pretty easily even if I'm doing shitty. (And if I'm too tired for a game, hopefully I'm too tired to do anything but go to bed and pass out.)

I really have no idea how I'd handle depression or anxiety without video games as distraction. I'd... probably need a lot more medication.
