I'm on Jaynestown now, and still not seeing it. All Safe did was solidify my interest in Jayne/Simon.

I also want to ship Zoe and Mal but I can't do that to Wash :O

Wash is adorable <3 And if it helps [and if you haven't hit yet] there's actually an episode where Wash is really jealous of Zoe and Mal and...I think that pretty solved that [at least for me.]

I don't usually like ships where there would be fighting between the couple; I like my fluff.

Probably. I tend to prefer ships where the characters hate each other so much they make out.

(There is the additional fact that is just watched Inception for the fifteenth time, and Simon and Jayne instantly reminded me of Arthur and Eames, who are my ship to end all ships.)

Oh, for sure, then that's not what you'll get from Simon/Kaylee at all. :)

...now I want to go watch Inception again (though, like my taste in ships, I'm a big Arthur/Ariadne fan ;) )

I honestly shipped A/A throughout my whole first viewing of the movie, but then A/E suckered me it with it's belligerent tension and amazing backstory possibility.

Was why I mostly stuck to my little corner of the fandom. I mostly participated in a fanwork comm and occasionally with A/A stuff, but steered clear of some of the crazy ship wars.

This is me all over. I love all the fighty conflict between characters and the extra dynamic that introduces to any shipping.

AYou are correct, op. They have no chemistry. Anyone who says otherwise is just wishing really hard. Simon/Mal had better chemistry. I could believe Kaylee having a crush, but not Simon liking her back. If Simon and River weren't related, they would have worked better than him and Kaylee.

Fucking cosigned; their chemistry is nonexistent. It also doesn't help, that vague look of disgust Simon's actor has on his face every time JS touches him.
