Now I want this too. And I feel the same about hating the show/character on premise alone. When people crossover it with Sherlock it's the only time where I root for BBC Sherlock to just throw goddamn Hannibal in jail after a very short investigation.

I love the show sfm, but not because I like Hannibal Lecter. He can go die for all I care.

But I love Will and Alana and Beverly a lot!

Will is a pretty great protagonist.

Also, it's a very pretty show.

I want hate!crossovers of Hannibal, the kind where he is completely, totally, and utterly pwned by the characters or mythos of another show.

**Criminal Minds would be the obvious one, but any crime procedural can come catch him and shoot him while he's escaping.
**Even Bones, and I'm sick of that show.
**Sherlock can come outsmart him and analyze him to death.
**Supernatural has a couple of nice prospects: Trickster!Gabriel can serve him his just deserts, that would be nice. Even better if Hannibal is serving a human-laced meal to some guy who turns out to be a latent rugaru, who promptly transforms and eats him.
**A human-eating alien can come to him for recipe tips, and then get PO'ed and eat him.
**A great big spaceship can land on him.
**He can be eaten by dragons.
**He can be eaten by Spike and Dru.
**Revolting gladiators can hack him to pieces.
**Some King's Landing flunky can off him preemptively before he can get any influence.
**Vriska can feed him to Spidermom.
**Walter White can blow him up in a meth lab.
**He can be exterminated.
**Some Downton Abbey character can give him Spanish flu, I don't care. JUST KILL HIM.

*Secret because everyone seems to love this show, and I probably shouldn't despise it so much on premise alone.

Well, I must say that it does start to get annoying to see this show being brought up everywhere nowadays in all the western fandoms I usually frequent. Big plus for Vriska and Spidermom too.

Pfft. I like the show, anon. But holy hell, I'd scream in delight if I ever find a fic with the premise of Sherlock outsmarting Hannibal completely before humiliating then throwing him into jail.

Don't know about the others like SPN and Homestuck premises, tho. That's outright cheating, OP! :P

Not gonna lie, I love this show; but if crossovers like that exist, I'm going to scream to the high hells in joy. Throw Hannibal under the bus, let him die from the Spanish flu, get him eaten by someone else, I'm pretty sure me and the majority of the fandom will be cheering from the sidelines.

Aha, I'd read it.

So far a lot of what I've seen of Hannibal fandom is so... smug? elitist? I don't know how to describe it, but I see so many posts going around about how much better Hannibal fandom is than other popular western TV fanbases (particularly the Superwholock types.) And while yes, some of that wears on me, I find it equally tiresome to read all that self-aggrandizing BS. No, every fandom has its problems, and just because yours is new and shiny doesn't mean it's never going to accumulate a pile of them.

I think I would enjoy this. He had mystery going for him in SotL, but he's cheapened and made shallower by the attempts to give ~motivation and ~meaning to the High-Class Murderer thing.

I usually don't read Hannibal secrets, as far as I'm concerned that show doesn't even exist, but you pretty much tricked me into reading yours with your hilarious wall of text. :) Thank you very much, I think you've just made my day!

(My favourite is the one with the spaceship: dramatic lights, sound effects, a spaceship landing... and "blop", one less psycho on the Earth.)

I follow one tumblr in particular, from whence I've found out that the running plotline is Hannibal torturing the other main recurring character who has...either brain damage or psychological problems? But Hannibal keeps convincing him he's fine? (I think.)

Anyhow, I had a mini crossover fantasy the last time I read one of those about Daniel Pierce crossing paths with the patient, diagnosing him correctly, and getting Hannibal's license taken away for malpractice, because this seems like one of those situations that would really piss him off. (But then Kate would have to intervene before Hannibal ate him.)
