Tbh, it was a pretty terrible film. The writing, the plot and the dialogue were so bad I spent most of the movie cringing, and I definitely wasn't invested enough in any of the characters to ship them. I didn't even ship anything out of boredom, I was just completely indifferent about everyone and everything.

Agreed. I'm glad others are happy that Superman is back and I want to see Cavill in the role again* but MoS was poorly made.

*if he gets more bearded/shirtless time cuz that look is HAAAAAWT.

agreed, the movie was so dull and lifeless that I couldn't dig up a fuck to give about shipping if I wanted to.

Faora/Hardy

There's your ship. I want to see them have rough, epic, warrior sex. Faora wants Hardy's DNA because she's never met a more worthy male, not even on Krypton, but that's all she wants. Hardy just wants to dominate her and the only way he'll know he's won is when he hears the cries of her climax. Neither wants to love the other... but eventually love wins out (so that they can continue fucking like champions.)

At the very least I wanted them to kiss at the end. It would have been absurd in the film but, oh, they needed each other at that moment.

Of course there are some very obvious issues with this ship but IDGAF. Those two both have deep instinctual needs that only the other can satisfy.

Also, if you need a slash ship, just do Supes/Hardy but I only suggest that because Henry Cavill and Christopher Meloni are hot as fuck. Wait for the next movie because, if they get someone good for Luthor, that ship writes itself.

I don't know what floats your particular shipping boat OP, but I came out of the theater with two potential non-Clark/Lois ships: Faora/Nathan Hardy and Zod/Jor-El.

Faora and Hardy had a lot of foe-yay going on. Seriously, when she lands on that plane in their last scene she goes straight for him, and I don't think she ever breaks eye contact with him the whole time she's swatting all the other soldiers around like flies. Human or no, she wants to fight HIM.

And seriously. Zod was throwing all kinds of unrequited/repressed vibes at Jor-El.

Wow I think I really am the only person in the world who actually liked the chemistry between Lois and Clark. I wasn't 100% keen on the kiss but that's because their relationship really wasn't properly developed romantically. L&C's relationship need time and more lines to develop into something even remotely heart wrenching. Otherwise their relationship in MoS is like an acquaintanceship. A friendly acquaintanceship where both parties, for some inexplicable reason have an innate empathy for each other.

Otherwise, I agree that MoS wasn't great. I also agree with the commenter who said MoS was on the same level as Batman Begins. I hope for the sake of Henry Cavill and the Superman franchise that the sequel has a much more compelling story line (and hopefully an entirely different writing team). So even though objectively I know this movie was bad, I can't help but irrationally root for it anyways. It'll be a tragedy if Cavill's Hollywood career goes down the same path as Brandon Routh.

If Lois isn't your bag, that waitress was cute. And then I'd quite like him to go with the newspaper dude, actually... Either of them, it doesn't matter.

But there's no one to ship him with... Poor Richard Schiff, you either died or got sucked into the Phantom Zone, even though you were playing a fairly major character from the Superman mythos.

I want to write lots of fic of your many adventures in the Phantom Zone cause you deserve better.

Anyway I liked the movie, it managed to be fun... but the Tornado scene is beyond stupid, hated the Tornado scene... hated Pa Kent... Every life matters Jonathan Kent!
