The problem is you let him live.

Kill him. It's the only way. I assume if his character was made after yours he'd be weaker then yours.

Either go corrupted or go paranoid. This guy is wayyy too like you. Is he a doppleganger? Is he after your soul? Some kinda magic Doppleganger who's not very bright? That's it isn't it? DIE MONSTER!

Whatever route you go with it, you must walk the path of the PK. If that fucks with the DM, well... DM deserves it for letting this bullshit go on so long.

Be the Old Man Henderson of the party! Channel the forces of chaos and plot-derailment until you are unique again! Or dead yourself. Then make a new character.

I like the cut of your jib! OP, you should listen to this guy.

OP

Lol, if I weren't so attached to my character (THAT I CREATED FIRST DAMMIT) then I would just try this.

As for who is older, technically he started playing first, but with a different character. He then changed it to match mine. So his stats are still equal, if not higher, to mine.

What... how could he make his character after yours but have higher stats? Were you missing games? Xp looter? What kinda shoddy game you guys playing here?

You got one thing he doesn't though... FIRST ATTACK.

Your best spell well he's not seeing it coming is gonna give you a lot of advantage. Nobody says it cant be on downtime when he's less then fully equipped either. Hell, wait till he's sleeping! Or find that dangerous trap and PUSH HIM IN IT. Think creatively! DON'T KEEP MISSING SESSIONS AND LETTING HIM GET AWAY WITH IT.

But if you absuotely don't think you can kill him... OLD MAN HENDERSON.

KILL. EVERYONE.

The artifact that the bad guys want to summon the great demon? SUMMON THAT FUCKER

The obvious room trap? TRIGGER IT.

The avoidable fight with overpowered adversity? ATTACK IMMEDIATELY THEN TURN ON THE TEAM.

Make the DM pay for this.

Once again, I like the cut of your jib! Do you DM, because you remind me of one of my friends who's a great DM because he takes absolutely no crap from any player, regardless of who they are. Which is exactly what a good DM should do.

Ugh. Old Man Henderson FTW!!!

Agreed. And for all OP's character knows, the mimic character could also be some kind of spy PRC (don't know what edition OP is playing) who is plotting to sell them out to their infernal master and take their place.
They could be a lawful evil person on a mission.

OP could consider it a challenge to make a new PC who is the opposite of the current one, with (assuming they're a higher level than their current PC was on creation) more starting GP to engineer a solid build.

And I am side-eying that DM SO HARD for not doing their gorram job and balancing the fun of every player at the table.

This is exactly what OP should be doing. Sometimes, PK is the only way to solve problems like this.
