From the sounds of it, this show has everything I should be interested in - awesome female characters, sci-fi, clones and genetic experiments.

But I just don't feel that interestd? IDK. There haven't been any ads for it where I live.

Somebody give me some more reasons to watch it.

The biggest thing that got me to watch it was when my bff couldn't stop talking about how she would forget that it was the same actress playing like 6 different characters. She's so convincing in each of the roles, and even when she's one of the characters PRETENDING TO BE ANOTHER CHARACTER, you're still completely convinced that they're different women.

Fringe did the whole other-universe-version thing really well, but this multiple clone business is like Olivia/Fauxlivia on steroids.

It's probably good, but I'm so far behind on tv shows I'm already watching that I don't feel comfortable starting another right now. And I've only seen one or two commercials and it rarely pops up on my dashboard or in the comm so IDK what it's about (other than female clones).

The clone story is the main story, to be sure. And it's well written and acted. I'd say give it a chance. the first series is only 10 episodes.

Did it just finish its first season? 10 episodes isn't much, so maybe after I catch up with a few other shows.

Yep, it just finished its first season. So if you do decide to watch it, you've got almost a whole year to catch up.

I enjoy that about tv! I don't like having to watch more than a season to catch up to what's airing; it intimidates me. So a lot of things that have multiple seasons under their belt I don't even touch. (At least until they're over.)

So, yea. Maybe before season 2!

Same. It looks like everything I want in a show, but I just can't get into it, and I really don't know why. A lot of my friends are into it, and I still think the premise is so interesting and the acting seems great, but I watched the first episode and was just bored. It didn't inspire me at all to keep watching. Everyone seems to be loving it, and I wish I could figure out why I'm not. What am I missing?

Just keep on soldiering on, I guess? One of the great things about Orphan Black (well, to me anyway) is the build up. The first couple episodes is about establishing the clones' lives. Then the conspiracy really begins to unfold; and it does so with wonderful speed. When the showrunners introduce a question to the plot, they don't shy away from answering it within an episode or so.

Also, there's the acting! Based on what you've said, I don't think what you've seen does justice to just how great Tatiana Maslany's acting is. The clones, the clones impersonating each other, etc., it's easy to forget that it's only one person playing all of them.

But yeah, my only advice would be really to just keep watching. For me, I started to get into it by the third episode.
