Voices are more important to me than looks and I liked the actress' voice. And from the commercials it looked like she did an amazing job and that my face blindness wouldn't be an issue, or at least not much of one. But the guy in the commercial who whined about not knowing what backup is had the most painful voice for me to listen to and I just couldn't bring myself to watch the show.

People keep recommending this to me. I say I'm not interested... But I know that I would be if the cast was mostly male instead of mostly female.

The only way I'd watch a genderbent version of the show is if Enver Gjokaj (that super cool guy from Dollhouse) played the main character(s).

That said, watch Orphan Black. It's good!

It's a great show and you're missing out. There aren't many shows that have a full kickass female cast (that is scifi) and Tatiana is amazing at playing all of them.

From the sounds of it, this show has everything I should be interested in - awesome female characters, sci-fi, clones and genetic experiments.

But I just don't feel that interestd? IDK. There haven't been any ads for it where I live.

Somebody give me some more reasons to watch it.

I'm feel the same way with things, but in reverse.

More often than not, it is the female characters I relate to and focus on, so when a show/book/movie has an all or mostly male cast I generally look the other way.

(Bonus: If the only female characters are being degraded by the male characters and it is played off as being alright, then I am absolutely never going to watch/read it.)

But the numbers are really more about half and half?

There's Felix, her amazing foster brother; her annoying druggie-ex; her love interest with the tormented, mysterious past; her cop-partner who's always just one step behind the curve; Mr. Freaky Leeky, the "evil" scientist; tail dude; and Donnie, the not-so-sympathetic husband of Alison.

That's seven different guys. All important characters. All appearing in almost every episode.

Heck, take away all of Tatiana's clone characters and you've got her foster mother, her plot-device daughter, a nosy neighbor, lesbian-in-training Delphine, and... that's it.

So seven guys versus four women, which admittedly rises to eight once you throw in the four main clones.

WOW. SEVEN GUYS TO EIGHT WOMEN. THAT SURE IS A SERIES DOMINATED BY WOMEN.
