There are many reasons why you might not have been recced. Really, from my experience, only huge fandoms (most often American TV-series) have a big reccing base. So if you're writing for a small or obscure fandom, you gotta take that into account. There's also the fact that even in those fandoms, BNFs are more likely to get recced. It's a matter of visibility -- people might not find your fics if you just post it on your LJ, or if there's new fics posted every day.

I've been in a couple of big fandoms for over 15 years now (and I run a heavily trafficked fan fiction archive) and most of my stuff rarely gets recced, even though a lot of people claim to love it... I write in a certain format and that isn't to everyone's tastes, plus, I do weird pairings.
You've got a supportive beta... they are worth their weight in gold.
