I think it's rather foolish to blame that on your beta. Hell, you should be grateful that you have such a supportive person willing to help you out!

There are many reasons why you might not have been recced. Really, from my experience, only huge fandoms (most often American TV-series) have a big reccing base. So if you're writing for a small or obscure fandom, you gotta take that into account. There's also the fact that even in those fandoms, BNFs are more likely to get recced. It's a matter of visibility -- people might not find your fics if you just post it on your LJ, or if there's new fics posted every day.

All of this, pretty much.

Also, your beta may find your work amazing in their opinion, but that doesn't necessarily mean everyone does. If the lack of recs really bothers you, try self-reccing.

Thirding this...

And even if you write for a big fandom, your stuff may not get many recs. I've been in a couple of big fandoms for over 15 years now (and I run a heavily trafficked fan fiction archive) and most of my stuff rarely gets recced, even though a lot of people claim to love it... I write in a certain format and that isn't to everyone's tastes, plus, I do weird pairings.

You've got a supportive beta... they are worth their weight in gold.
