Honestly? Personality is what turns a person ugly in my eyes, and personality can make a person beautiful. Sounds cheesy, but it's the truth.

Naw, I don't agree. I think you know what ugly and pretty is, or at least what you think it is, outside of personality.

Now, I think if you're a reasonable person, you know that doesn't matter much and that who the person is matters a lot more than how they look, and once you know someone that's going to be the basis for how you think of them. Because you're a smart, decent person. But I find it difficult to believe that anyone doesn't have some kind of idea about how to judge surface appearances. It's a subjective idea, and it doesn't matter much, but I think it's untrue to say it doesn't exist at all. Denying that it exists just seems unrealistic like wishful thinking.

Sure I can judge surface appearances, but I really don't think anyone is truly ugly. Maybe some aren't as appealing as others, but I don't think they're ugly.

You're free to think differently but I find it kind of funny that you come in and just tell me that my view is wrong and try and tell me what I really think.

Yeah, I think that's all I was really trying to get across, I think. Sorry if I was too aggressive or anything like that.

That's way too simply. Attractivity includes lots of things: voice, accent, posture, smiles, laughter, a twinkle in the eye, attitude, confidence, style, smell. Things you can take in within seconds that aren't necessarily the same as getting to know their character.

You can flip through a magazine, look at photos of people, and say with some objectivity whether or not someone is pretty. Attractive, alluring, interesting, hot, or sexy are a different matter, and they're all opposites of 'ugly.'
