Secret 1

[personal profile] transcriptanon 2013-07-09 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
[Picture is a dark brown cat leaning in from the border of the picture, with its lower jaw dropped as if in surprise.]

More than a year ago, I made a secret about finding the home address of my favorite celebrity. Since then, he put his house up for sale and detailed pictures of the interior were posted on a real estate website. I don't do anything with the information... except use it as reference material for daydreams and my Real Person Fic.

(Picture is completely unrelated.)

Secret 2

[Picture is every team leader of each of the first five Digimon anime series or seasons; left from right and in order of appearance: Taichi "Tai" Kamiya, Davis Motomiya, Takato Matsuki, Takuya Kanbara and Masaru Daimon. They are all young teenager age brown-haired boys with brown eyes and pale skin, except for Masaru Daimon who is a few years older and has olive green colored eyes. The youngest four are also wearing goggles pushed up to rest on their heads. Behind them is a background consisting of long lines of zeros and ones in blue-green.]

Not secret: I love Digimon. The anime, the games, the music, everything about it.

The secret? I only like the first five seasons of the anime. I cannot stand the sixth. In the Digimon fandom, if you don't like the sixth season you either have your nostalgia goggles (no pun intended) on too tight or you're not a "true" fan of the series. I don't like Shoutmon and find him to be annoying, and the fact that all the other Digimon are just add-on weapons for him is terrible. Not to mention the fact that most of the female characters are purely fan service. I'm tired of being ostracized for how I feel about this.

As someone else put it, that season isn't Digimon. It's a different anime with Digimon as guest stars.

Secret 3

[Picture is a printed photograph of two characters from the CGI animated movie "Monsters University", with their names and chosen Major next to them: "Terri & Terry Perry; Major: Dance & English". They are yellow-skinned monsters who have two heads but are sharing one body and are wearing a dark green sweater. One of them has two brown horns and the other only has one horn. They both have only one -huge- eye and mouth. Their eyes are blue and they both have buckteeth. They have no nose, no ears and no ears.]

As soon as they were introduced, I wondered whether each of them had a different sexual orientation.

Secret 4

[Picture is... a collection of various album covers of various popular musicians.]

My musical tastes vary according to who I talk with...

When I'm with my rap-loving sisters and cousins, I agree that metal and visual kei sounds like unmelodic screaming/noise.
When I'm with my visual kei friends, I claim that Japanese boysbands suck and are untalented.
When I'm with my Japanese boysbands-loving friends, I say that Western pop is boring, unlike the Japanese one...
When I'm with my Directioners and Beliebers classmates, I agree that old-time bands suck in comparison to One Direction and Justin Bieber.
When I'm with my Beatles and other "old bands"-loving friends, I tell them that modern music definitely can't compare to the old one.
When I'm with my parents and older acquaintances, I say that all kind of rap music is crap that should not even count as music...

I feel like a total hypocrite, and like I'm afraid to show my own tastes... I actually like pretty much all the above music, and it makes me feel weird... I never let anyone browse through my iPod...

I'll just copy from Wikipedia:

Visual kei ("visual style" or "visual system") is a movement among Japanese musicians, that is characterized by the use of varying levels of make-up, elaborate hair styles and flamboyant costumes, often, but not always, coupled with androgynous aesthetics. Some sources think that visual kei refers to a music genre, with its sound usually related to glam rock, punk rock and heavy metal. However, this is contradictory to the fact that visual kei acts play various genres, including those unrelated to rock such as electronic, pop, etc. Other sources, including members of the movement themselves, state that it is not a music genre and that the fashion and participation in the related subculture is what exemplifies the use of the term.

Secret 5

[Picture is Miku Hatsune, the Vocaloid mascot and singing synthesizer application. She is a young anime-style character with pale skin, blue eyes, and extremely long greenish-blue hair pulled up in two pigtails on the upper sides of her head. She wears headphones, black sleeves, a black, blue and white sleeveless dress and long black thigh-high boots. The picture in the secret is sourced to RileyAV on deviantART and tumblr.]

I don't get why the Vocaloid fandom is so vehemently opposed to the idea of an official anime. I think it could potentially turn out awesome if done by the right people. It could be like a cross between Tron and Jem and the Holograms!

Secret 6

[personal profile] transcriptanon 2013-07-09 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
[Picture is black text on a blank bright yellow background.]

My beta always tells me that my fics are awesome. She compliments my prose; my writing style. But I've been in fandom for four months now, and my words have never been recommended. Never. Not even once.

...I think I need to get a new beta.

"Rec lists" or "Recommendation lists" are a big deal in certain fandoms, particularly the larger ones. They are sometimes the difference between popularity and near total obscurity, especially if the stories don't fit the popular themes, pairings or characters fans are most often seeking.

Secret 7 [warning for explicit text (mostly sexual, some violence)]

[personal profile] transcriptanon 2013-07-09 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
[Picture is Killer Queen and Yoshikage Kira from the manga JoJo's Bizarre Adventure; Yoshikage Kira is a blonde man with pale tanned skin and blue eyes and a red suit jacket, yellow shirt and a red tie with emblems of skulls with pointy "ears" over it; next to him his his stand "Killer Queen", a humanoid creature with pointy ear-like protrusions on the top of his head, no ears, nose hair, an uniform metallic-like white or pale gray skin, and yellow eyes.]

I want him to fuck me roughly and to suck on my fingers or hand while I watch him.

Secret because he's a sick fuck who cuts off women's hands. ...I still think he's incredibly hot.

Secret 8

[personal profile] transcriptanon 2013-07-09 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
[Picture is a baby rabbit with sort light brown fur and brown eyes.]

My fandom is so kink-unfriendly.

Picture related because: It's making my kinky bunnies sad. [crying sad emoticon]

Secret 9

[personal profile] transcriptanon 2013-07-09 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
[Picture is the covers of various science-fiction books: "Dune" by Frank Herbert, "3001 The Final Odyssey" by Artur C. Clarke, "He Do the Time Police in Different Voices" by David Langford, "2001 A Space Odyssey" by Arthur C. Clarke and Children of Dune by Frank Herbert. There is also a digital image of a man made of metal falling apart, but I can't find the original artist.]

An acquaintance passed away and left all their old science fiction books to me. (I think I was the only science fiction fan they knew.) There's about 80 books. I feel bad for being so happy about getting these books and for not knowing him better.

Secret 10

[personal profile] transcriptanon 2013-07-09 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
[Picture is the character Superman from the movie "Man of Steel". He is a muscular man with short dark hair and slightly tanned pale skin. He is wearing a spandex dark blue suit with an emblem of a red "S" on his chest and a bright red cape over his back. He is standing in front of a small parking lot.]

I loved this movie. But the internet seems to have universally loathed it, so I'm afraid to even bring it up. I just want someone to squee with. I'm sorry I've got bad taste.

Secret 11

[personal profile] transcriptanon 2013-07-09 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
[Picture is the cover image of the song "Radioactive" by "Imagine Dragons", from their Extended Play "Continued Silence". It's a person laying on their back and levitating in the middle of a forest with purple illumination. They are holding on to a briefcase.]

My sister loves this song and sings it all the time. It took me an embarrassingly long time to realize that the "ray-di-o-ac-tive" part was not, actually, "baby you like this". I blame her terrible singing.

Not Secret 1

[Picture is the photograph of a young man with olive skin and light eyes wearing a pair of eyeglasses. He has short brown hair that has been spiked up, the beginnings of a mustache and beard and a flannel shirt with a blue, red, black and white tartan pattern. From the location, the angle of the picture and the position of his arm, it seems that he took the photograph himself.]

Why isn't it appropriation when people who don't need them wear glasses?
