Uh, of course they have the options to go their seperate ways. Divorce? Disownment? Breaking off all contact? Those are perfectly ordinary ways that adult family members leave.

And yes, kids CAN just run away from home and parents CAN kick their kids out of the house. It's not legal, but it happens ALL THE DAMN TIME. Go research as to why a lot of homeless people are teenagers, and why they'd rather be on the streets than go back home.

Honestly, you and the person below you are acting like families must stay together under penalty of death, or something.
