I'm another one who loved it. Superman is far from my favorite superhero, mostly because I find him boring. You know he's going to do the right thing in the right way, and he delivers. Giving the Superman mythos a darker take (and forcing the character to do something nobody else has had the guts to have him do, again, because he always does what's right) made him much more interesting to me.

I do have a couple of nitpicks. Like many people, I don't understand the gratuitous destruction during the final battle with Zod, because wasn't the point of destroying the terraformer saving all those people who have now died in your epic battle? And second, the people at the very end that Zod was trying to kill COULD HAVE RUN AWAY! Seriously. They aren't trapped with nowhere to go and Zod's eyebeams bearing down on them. There is totally PLENTY OF OPEN SPACE TO RUN TO AND SAVE YOURSELF? I'm not really sure how the director/editor's/ cgi sfx guys missed that.

Oh, and Henry Cavil is delicious. He's my new favorite.

And I actually like the new super suit. I really thought I would be distracted by all that blue with nothing to break it up, but I didn't notice it at all. Go figure.
