In my fandom, when something gets recced, 95% of the time it's lowest-common-denominator fare. Sounds to me like the OP may be writing nichefic. It could be the greatest fic in the world, too, but if she's writing something that's not gout du jour, expecting a rec is probably unrealistic.

The OP should just be glad she's got an enthusiastic beta who is also an appreciative reader.
