I recently got into Downton Abbey but I stopped mid-S3 because it just got too ridiculous to me. Now I'm trying to find new shows that are set in the same time period and have the same production values. I tried Mr. Selfridge but I just couldn't get into it. So currently still trying to find a Downton Abbey replacement.

Since I sadly know nothing about Downton Abbey barring what I absorb from others, I cannot suggest anything. But try this link! http://hellogiggles.com/what-to-watch-when-youre-not-watching-downton-abbey

Thanks for the link! Some of those look interesting and I might actually watch them. I do have more of a fondness for the servants' stories in Downton Abbey and it turns out those aren't really popular in the media. :(

I haven't watched it myself, but have you tried Upstairs Downstairs? I know you mentioned importance of production values and it's a show from the 70s which doesn't have the same cinematography, but you never know.

Apparently it was one of Downton Abbey's main inspirations.
