There's obviously nothing wrong with anyone's RL preferences in the matter, but as the anons above pointed out, IN FIC assigning exclusive positions usually means some pretty cliché stereotyping that I personally find really offensive. So I just backspace out of fics a lot. But going back to your secret: try not to take it personally - fic and RL are pretty different in this matter.
