You know what bugs me? This whole passive bottom bullshit. Where are all my bossy bottoms? Where's all the riding fic? Because dude, just because I love to get penetrated does not make me "subby" or "passive" or whatever else.

Not that there's anything wrong with that, I'm just sick of never seeing anything else written unless it's specific kink D/s fic or the like - and even then it's rare.

I love bossy bottoms. One of the best things about my recent love of reading Moriarty/Moran fics.

Yep, there's a reason why all my favorite pairings are the ones where both characters have such strong personalities in canon that putting one on the bottom in fic is more likely to result in aggressive bottoming, so that I can get my bossy bottom fix.

I just wanna say, this comment and the responses make me really happy, because one of the pairings I write falls very happily into a dominant/submissive pattern (if not outright D/s in some fics), but the dominant one occasionally prefers being penetrated - and he's still the one in charge, dammit!

There's nothing about giving or taking that makes one dominant or submissive - after all, if women can top without pegging (and they can), then gay men can top without penetrating. And I'm really glad that that idea is both becoming more accepted and that people actually want this, so I won't be scared that nobody will like my stuff once I actually finish it c:

One of my favorite canons has a bossy bottom who, when his boyfriend doesn't give it to him like he wants it, throws him down and rides him (even if said boyfriend has passed out--which, dub-con very much yes, but they were about to have sex, boyfriend has given him blanket consent any time any place, and when he woke up later and realized what had happened, he was just disappointed he'd missed it and wanted a repeat).

Given that all of that's in a genre known for weepy wilting flowers, it's kind of amazeballs.
