Don't leave it in the bathroom and lock your room. Then check and make sure that's the only thing messed up/missing...and yeah. I'd at least ask - not confrontational like but 'Hey, do you know how my pencil got broken?' If you're lucky she'll fess up and you can point blank ask her not to it again [and explain why since that *will* help], if not...well. At least you know not to leave stuff you don't want her to use where she can get to it.
