Re: Ever feel like you're just not handling life (even if you don't have much to do)?

I find it's a lot harder to get things done when you feel like you have nothing to do, even if you have a hugely long "to do" list! What I mean by "nothing to do" is nothing besides that list, like you said, no job.

The endless job hunt certainly doesn't help, either -- I know, I'm doing the same thing, right now. I've discovered unless I'm in school or working, I don't find much reason to get up and out during the day. It doesn't help that all job applications are online now, so there's no point in pounding the pavement.

I've found it helps me to have "work hours." Especially since you regularly write for the magazine, set some for yourself. I made myself an office by making a rule that I'm not aloud to apply for jobs from my apartment: I have to go to a library, coffee shop, anywhere with WiFi and an outlet. I have a start time, end time, lunch break, and business attire. It takes a seemingly insurmountable amount of effort the first week or two, but if you can force yourself through it, it can start to feel like you have intention. Which is really what having a job is, right? Deadlines and goals, and such.

See if there's anything that help you get through it, too.

Op: thank you, that does seem something that might work.
