I'm pretty sure that your landlord can't make you live like that for a week. Double-check your lease to see if it offers insight on safe living conditions. If they try to make you, contact the city health department, the better business bureau and, if you can afford one, a lawyer. Because if they can't fix your problem in a timely fashion, they need to be providing an alternative living situation until it is fixed.

And a week living with sewage and little water use is not sanitary.

Luckily, the landlord is getting us a plumber today instead of next Monday. So, we shall see what happens.
