The whole movie was a disgusting mockery of the original ST films.

There is nothing between this Spock and Kirk that would ever suggest a close bond. The extreme reaction from Spock was nothing short of forced, probably penned in to manipulate the audience. I see it did a good job of manipulating the OP. The writers of this movie are retarded, but I'd never expect fans to point that out.

Spock knew Kirk exactly as well as he did Pike, very little, and did he cry or KHAAAAN when Pike died? No.

Been a while since I saw it, but IIRC, something like a year had passed between movies and the Enterprise crew had been adventuring all the while. I think Kirk and Spock were meant to have become begrudging friends/friendly rivals, mostly because Old!Spock told them they'd be better for it. It sucks that most of the development was off-screen, but it was written as them being much closer than in the first movie.

Wow, a whole year

Dude, people can meet each other in five minutes and know from that point on that they're going to get married. Just because it takes you five years to make one friend (nothing wrong with that!) doesn't mean that people who make a friend in five minutes don't understand ~true friendships or whatever you are trying to imply, silly bean. Time is subjective for each person. Friendships that have lasted for years and years are not inherently more valid than friendships that have lasted for six months, and i'm sorry for you if you feel otherwise (and this is from someone who PREFERS the long, slow to build, friendships, if only bc i am a very distrusting person...fuck it i'm probably talking to a dog and not a person anyway)

Wow, someone is bitter. Someone has a different opinion to you and it means they were manipulated? Here's an idea: maybe they interpreted it differently to you.

when his mother died

Spock's reaction was way more emotional and heartbreaking (not to mention in character) to me because he didn't cry.
