Here's another reason: in North Carolina, it's tax-free weekend on "back to school" shopping. Which includes all reasonably priced shoes & clothing (regardless of size or style), computers and computer accessories. The mall was freaking packed this afternoon.

And stuff, and things, and wank like that. But mainly the lack of a single mega fandom that everyone can rally around and praise/bitch about, no coincidence that the big threads of the last few weeks have been Potter threads.

I doubt it. IMO it seems like the comm is busiest when we have lots of secrets about the more popular shows/movies/etc. BioWare games always seem to bring the discussion (or wank); Dragon Age 3 needs to come out.

As far as the US part of F!S, in many states it's a tax free weekend. We're out shopping, people!

If f!s was supposedly dying before and excuses were given for the slower pace being temporary and then f!s didn't die then they weren't excuses, they were reasons why saying it was dying was stupid.

If it does die, can the funeral been on a Friday? I get those off. Also it should be in Antarctica

No main fandom to rally about, mostly. I kinda like it though, seeing the GC section getting more and more creative as a result.
