Re: So I Finally Saw Pacific Rim...
But I think it's blown up over tumblr because it was such an outline of a movie. Like they gave you all of these interesting looking characters like The Russian Pilots and Choi but with almost no background. Because of this, the fans can take it upon themselves to fill in the blanks. Like coloring book. And they have taken that to heart. Like someone gave them a sandbox and they went to town building castles.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-08 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)I'd rather have Stacker Pentecost giving St Crispin's Day speeches and then dying in a noble sacrifice any day, particularly when it is portrayed with as crisp and as light a hand as it is in Pacific Rim.
Re: So I Finally Saw Pacific Rim...
Eh, but what character development they did do was entirely too much for the generibland cast they created.
I would have preferred something more like Black Hawk Down with robots and monsters: spend the first fifteen minutes introducing the cast, then let them go to town fightan battols nonstop until the credits roll.
