I don't think I'll ever get this recent obsession with viewing characters as non-cis.

I think "non-cis" for a lot of folk means characters who don't follow narrow cultural prescriptions for their perceived gender, and THAT is fucked up and actually not progressive at all. Sorry, you are not automatically non-cis if you're femme in a perceived-assigned-male-at-birth body, that just crams us further into binary views of gender that queers used to have to deal with in the bad old days - lesbian? You're an inverted women (male inside), of course! How radical!

And hello, some of these non-trans fans of non-cis theorising seem to miss that you can be, for instance, a femme trans man, as well as a femme cis man.

This. If I see one more assinine comment about how Hanji can't be a cis female "because SCIENCE", I will put a hole in the nearest wall.

I see him as a dude, but one who is kind of oblivious to the social and behavior expectations associated with dudes, if that makes sense.

As long as you're not hating on the people that do view him as cis, then it's all good.

I thought he was a girl for like the first seven episodes of the anime. idk, those anime designs and female voice actors, whaddya do.

Thiiiiiis yeah that's why I'm a little put-off by this :/ And the fact that it's that particular screencap, I don't know if it was intentional or not but Armin's being very emotional and nurturing in that scene and it worries me that he would be labeled "not a man" because of it...

OP: Hahaha, I'm using pixlr.com and it was the closest to blackboard font I could find. Be glad I didn't use Comic Sans ;-P

(p.s. if there's a more advanced photo editor out there, I'd love to hear about it! my problem with pixlr and photoshop and the like is a can never bloody figure out how to get outlined font. I have been struggling with layering the same blobs of text, and it's driving me insane!)
