FIRST! how is everyone today?

Ran into someone I haven't seen in a while, and they commented on how happy I seemed.

Would treat it as just standard politeness, except she's the first in a long list of people who have talked about it.

I guess I didn't realise how apparent the extent to which my old job was making me miserable was.

Spent most of the day taking my little sister around London to entertain her - museums (her choice, srsly), anime stores, arcades (she loves air hockey) etc.

I am at work, and I just had a really big burrito for lunch, and it was good, and the baseball is on the radio, which is nice.

Came to the realization last night that apparently I have, on occasion, been mistaken as being in a threesome. I feel silly for not catching that.

Bored out of my skull. It's too hot to play games (or do much else) and after multiple marathon sessions of reading comics this week I'm about comic'd out for a few days, so I've nothing to do.

Drove about ten miles on a bike. The place I'm currently staying in is beautiful. There's an eight-hundred-year-old church, a river, and a lot of lime trees.

Also, started reading Purple Hibiscus and watched Promised Land. It begs for a coda, and why isn't there an Inspector Morse fandom? Hell, Endeavour and Lewis are so much more popular than the original series it is unbelievable. (this particular episode happens to have a nice ficlet written for it, but it cannot be compared to to what's going on in the spin-off fandoms)

I'm awesome. I had a lot of fun after work today. My store is hosting a "Stuff the Bus" drive where they park a shiny new bus they're donating or sponsoring or whatever and customers load it up with donated school supplies for at-risk kids.

Using my partner parks card I got twenty percent off all the school supplies I bought, my store was having beaucoup sales, and it's tax-free weekend so I ended up getting the kids a lot of stuff. :D

Oh and I also found out not only do I get to go read to kids on company time next month but I made the volunteer cut for BOTH the run-or-dye 5k my city is hosting and this deal where my store's employees host a buffet for firefighters ~INSIDE THEIR FIRE STATION~! I even get to bring free treats for their puppy!

Welp I have a dentists appointment next week so I'm terribly anxious over that, but I haven't been waking up with my fists clinched so that's good!

And I think I'm finally going to buy another PS3. I was debating waiting for the GTA5 bundle but I've never actually played GTA (for longer than a few minutes, anyway) so it doesn't seem worth it. I'd probably get more use out of InFamous 2.

Well, I went to that showing of The Secret of NIMH with Don Bluth and Gary Goldman and it was really great.

They did Q&A afterward and one of the first things they said was how the couldn't believe how many people showed up and how many people still remembered the film. It was one of the best Q&As I've been too. It was very interesting and inspiring. I'm not even an artist and I even felt inspired to create something. Both men were very nice and had interesting stories to tell. You could really tell how much they cared and and loved what they did. Anyway, it was great.

Now I'm just lying around trying to cool off because it's like 107F outside.

Pretty awesome. Finally did some shopping, started tales of the abyss in 3DS and I'm going to finally watch season 2 of continuum.

I did my usual lazy-weekend video game playing and a bunch of clothes washing for next week.

Got a nice pair of shorts and sweatpants, and I also set up an interview for a job this Monday!
After a 5 hour trip I'm also back home so I'm really glad to not be in a motel room anymore.

I'm sad. I was on an online dating site tooling around and randomly came across a profile of someone who I recognized as a person I had a massive, massive thing for a few years back but for some reason we never really tried to go out, and now we've lost touch. And, uh, now I'm sad, and I miss them, because they were really cool to hang out with, and I also really regret the fact that we never went out together. Because I really, really liked them, and admired them.
