I made a post about it and someone recced Atlantis which...yeah, I didn't like nearly as much. The animation was pretty but the story kinda fell flat to me
I wish Disney would have some more adventure movies like that, though.

Anyway, speaking of animated adventure movies... Have you seen The Road To El Dorado? It's not actually Disney, but it's great anyway!

The Lion King definitely did take some stuff from it, like the shape of Pride Rock, but I think most people ranting about that missed the part where the Lion King is Hamlet.
Also, Kimba and Simba both mean lion, IIRC.

But yeah I was talking about Atlantis, and the anime I was thinking of was Nadia Secret of Blue Water.
Nadia secret of blue water.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-15 12:51 pm (UTC)(link)I bet we could do the whole comparison panel with Stargate too.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-16 12:53 am (UTC)(link)Though, yeah. Atlantis very clearly ripped off Nadia in a lot of ways. There are some similarities that I'd believe are coincidental but so many others are practically frame by frame taken from Nadia.
