Re: warning for sort of anti-trans sentiments?

I know that you're still negotiating how best to do the transcript thing by trial and error. And there've been different opinions about levels of editorialisation. But I really, really, really, really don't think it's your place to impose warnings and value judgements like this on other people's secrets.

Every characterization someone makes in translating something is a value judgment. I don't think it's a big deal, especially since translation!anon seems to be an extremely reasonable person. Just the sort of thing that gets shook out in the process, you know?

but they're not translating....it's a transcript, hence their username. there's no value judgments to be made because they're just copying word for word what the OP had stated.

I've got no dog in the hunt for the secret/its content but IAWTC. If OP puts a trigger warning on the secret, it should go in the transcript, as a part of the secret. If not, not. The outside world does not cater to every single person's "Ew I don't like that make it go away" reaction (quite the opposite in fact) and neither imo should the Internet.

On the other hand, I will never understand people who seem offended by the existence of trigger warnings or - le gasp - the considerate people who might use them.

I'm sure they appreciate your input, because they seem to appreciate everyone's input. That said? There is no consistent warning system across the internet, and there are many people who don't warn when they should (usually because they forget, occasionally because they're inconsiderate dicks). Transcript anon is wisely erring on the side of caution because they're a nice person, and it harms exactly no one to attach a possibly inaccurate warning to a fandom secret.

I take your point. But in general if I were the secret-maker I'd be quite fucked off at having a warning like this -with which she almost certainly doesn't agree- treated as part of a transcription. And in this specific case, I think that the warning is actually inaccurate (or at least subjective) enough to actually be counter-productive.
