I hate the cuddly pack puppy-pile trope. Most despised Teen Wolf fanon, by far. It freaks me out, so much touching... Why must you ruin pretty pictures of Harry Styles for me?!

Seriously. They should just sniff each others butts like real wolves.

I am all kinds of alarmed that I haven't come across this yet.

More despised than "Pack Mom Stiles" and fics that have him be all nurturing to everyone? I love Teen Wolf and read the fic like I need it to breathe, but some of the fanon tropes make me want to beat my head against the wall.

Pack Mom Stiles is the most ridic BS. Fandom tries so hard to sell it, too, because they believe it. Like it's a real thing. It's about as true as the show's main focus is Derek and Stiles.

I love this trope because it's almost-but-not-quite one of my favorite kinks: in which a couple has sex while their friends/people they trust are nearby and aware of what's happening three feet away from them, but not being actively voyeuristic about it. Why do people not write this more often?!

Probably because of the possible voyeurism (unintentional as it may be). I see a lot of fics where things will get hot and heavy and the pack will clear out because they can hear and smell everything, and it's just all kinds of weird. Or where they don't clear out and then are all "Dude, I didn't need that in my life" about it. Only once have I read a fic where they didn't clear out, but that's because they were kinda sorta involved, in that puppy pile way. It was...interesting, to say the least.

But yeah, I just get the feeling folks aren't as into voyeurism in this fandom? I'm just majorly bummed that there isn't more A/O mpreg or soulbonding. C'mon, who hates soulbonding?

See, I figure at some point werewolves just get used to hearing and smelling other people having sex around them. If you can hear someone's heart beating from across the room, then you're definitely going to be hearing your neighbors' bedsprings squeaking (or, you know, your parents' bedsprings). And scents linger when your nose is as sensitive as a canine's, so your typical werewolf must be constantly surrounded by the smell of recent sex, too. At some point, they must have to just let the trauma go and become blase about the whole thing.

I got into these two fandoms at the same time and because of this I can't help but think these boys are actually werewolves and that's why they cuddle so much. They're pack.

Secret because: This headcanon is just embarrassing. I'm a logical adult, but I can't help thinking this!

The guy on the top right is probably more olive-skinned than light, considering he's South Asian.

I think the one on the left has olive skin too? I wasn't very sure, so in cases like this I just try to use something a tad broad like "light", and only specify further if I'm a bit more certain.

I don't particularly like the puppy pile thing tbh, mostly because I just can't see the cast doing it. It would be adorable, but...yea.

Anyway, it's a headcanon, it isn't hurting anyone.

You're an adult that is heavily involved in two fandoms that revolve around teenagers.

Okay. OKAY. Everyone hold the phone. Wait one second.

There is commonly heated debate in this comm about loli/shotacon. I understand this debate.

Why is there no debate about this? Why does an adult get to write porn about, say, Harry Potter, but he or she is lambasted if he or she gets involved in certain anime/manga? In other words, why is it that Western-style pedophilia/ephebophilia is considered acceptable while Eastern-style pedophilia/ephebophilia is not?

It probably has to do with the line drawn between written and visual, and the line between children and teenagers. There's little to no prosecution of written fictional child porn that I've ever heard of here in the States, but anime/manga actually has pictures of fictional children, and in a lot of places in the West, that's the "fuck no" threshold, both morally and legally speaking. Even a lot of anime/manga/fanart/comic porn sites are wary of hosting work that features characters stated to be younger than a certain age (anywhere from fourteen to eighteen, depending) in sexual situations for fear of prosecution. There's a huge debate about it, dunno where you've been.

So, it's less that "lol it's only okay so long as it's Western" and more "lol we try to draw the line at CP art".
