Honestly, the reason is irks me has more to do with the fact that they update their other comic [which has the same 'one page a week' schedule] on time most weeks, but don't update this one as often.

Admittedly, I'm far more interested in this one, or I might not care.

Like the Transcript anon said - it's Sfeer Theory. The other one is called Fox Sister, and actually is pretty good...I just have trouble getting into the whole REVENGE! thing driving it's main character.

oh, that's by them too? I admit, I only got into it because I stumbled into the most recent page and thought the character there (the fox in human form) was actually pretty good-looking, and the art style was neat enough, so I started reading backwards, thought "eh, it's okay, it's nice to look at, so what's going on?" and then went to the beginning to read properly

it's... okay, I guess? I kinda want to know what happens next, but it's more like a "okay, let's check back on a few months to see if answers are given or anything" than a "let's check as it updates omfg yes" kind of interest

so, uh, yeah, they're totally updating the less widely-appealing comic, I guess

Yeah, they are. Which is their choice, but it's annoying that they set a schedule [that supposedly takes into account the time to do pages for both comics], and can't seem to be bothered to say 'Hey, turns out we don't have as much time as we thought/here's what's going on'.

But, then again, I admit I'm the person who - if someone [including myself] says their going to do something, they should do it or at least let the other people know 'Hey, here's what happened...'

Anyway, I kind of get this. There are fics I've stopped following because the updating was so erratic that I just couldn't keep up.

Tell me about it! When I first stumbled upon this comic I saw some of the art and read about the world-building they had crafted and I was all like "oh my god this is awesome, gonna read this now", but then it turned out that they had started over, and there were now only like four pages of the whatever era.

[Picture is a page from the webcomic "Sfeer Theory". It shows a young man and an elder man speaking. They are both wearing old-fashioned clothes, with the man wearing a brown coat with a high collar, and the young man a white shirt with a high collar and a blue vest. The older man has light pale skin and short dark graying hair, with most of it already dark gray but lower part of his hair mostly darker. He also has a short, pointy beard and a very thin mustache. The young man has light skin, a tad darker than the older man's, and short wavy dark brown hair. The older man is very sure of himself, while the younger man is a bit nervous to be speaking to him.

The younger man has the inner monologue: "Runs the department of practical study. This gives him say in most of Uitspan's schooling, spanning from the boy's school's basic undergraduate courses to the beginning graduate requirements. It also gives him control over most of the boys [truncated] He is quite feared among the student body."

This is the dialogue:
Older man: "Funny seeing you here this morning."
Young man: "It is funny being here this morning!"
Older man: "Not particularly. Had a word that some of our boarders have been bustling around after hours. Seen anyone skulking around?"
Young man: "Ah, I cannot say! I just got here."]

I shouldn't have read their LiveJournals. Now I can't give up on this comic because I know the story will be amazing, but they take so long to update, it makes me really frustrated...

Secret because: Complaining that an author takes too long to write/draw is stupid and entitled. Quality takes time.

Sfeer Theory is a personal project, whereas Chira is actually working with someone else to do Fox Sister. Plus she has to make time for other projects and work, I'd imagine, and she was pretty sick for a while. Cut her some slack.

Sfeer Theory, the comic in the secret, is a collaboration between an artist Jayd Ait-Kaci and writer Alex Singer.

The Fox Sister is a collaboration between artist Jayd Ait-Kaci and writer Christina Strain.

They are unrelated except for the shared artist.

Jayd has had health problems for the last few months, and has said so multiple times.

Not anywhere on the site for Sfeer Theory, so it's not exactly surprising people don't realize that she's sick - and if they are following the other one, which she is [according to other commentors] back to updating regularly, it's not surprising they're irrtated. Plus, iirc, don't they mention that they set up the update schedule to let her have time to work on other stuff?

Idk, while I'll agree people complaining can be annoying...I can see why they would.

I'm not objecting to people complaining, I don't really care, I think people have the right to complain, I just wanna stop misinformation before it poisons the whole discussion.

I think they probably didn't want to clutter the ST site with blog-type updates, but that's just a guess.

Jayd is working on other stuff...? Small Town Witch, and she just got done with That Which Wills printing. She has many plates spinning.

I don't even mind people complaining about THAT, just get the facts straight.

I stopped reading her journals/tumblr after I noticed I didn't really agree with some of the things she said and some stuff kind of rubbed me the wrong way. I didn't want to have that colour the enjoyment of the comic - It was a good decision.

Ah, it's been a while, I wouldn't want to give falso info in case I'm confusing this with someone else. So nothing specific, but in general, she seemed a bit ... elitist to me in some regards. She also kept reblogging stuff from people I'm not too fond of, so it was for the best to unfollow her - it wasn't anything drastic - it's definitely not a "she's a terrible person" thing, I just didn't agree with some of her views and that's okay.
